(VOV) -A US delegation led by Senator Mary Landrieu paid an official visit to Vietnam from February 18-21.
The delegation also met with related agencies on child adoption and visited an SOS village to see how the US can further support Vietnam.
The international adoption between the two countries was suspended in 2008. Since then, the Vietnamese government has strengthened its commitment to reforming its child adopting system.
The US government has supported Vietnam’s three-year project to The Hague Adoption Convention and other efforts to improve law-building and control systems through child adoption under a programme which has been extended by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), until the end of December this year.
