- Central province earmarks VND4 billion for tourism promotion

Quang Nam Province plans to spend VND4 billion (US$235,000) to promote tourism following a sharp drop in local and foreign arrivals recently.

Many international tourists have canceled tours to the central province, travel firms said.Quang Nam also announced a slew of activities meant to attract visitors, especially to Hoi An.
It includes encouraging hotels and transport and tour companies to offer discounts of 10-40 percent during cultural festivals, especially the fourth Heritage Route Festival scheduled next June.Visitors would be provided free transport from Hoi An to the My Son sanctuary during this festival.Authorities will honor travel companies getting the largest number of tourists to the province.The Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism is set to focus on markets like Asean, Northern Europe, Russia, and Korea.
