Vietnam’s reunification anniversary celebrated in Cuba

The mirror of Vietnamese heroes will remain forever in the hearts of the Cuban people, said Vice Chairman of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) Epifavio Selman.
At a meeting held in Havana on April 26 to mark Vietnam’s 33 rd anniversary of Liberation Day and National Reunification (April 30), Epifavio Selman commended Vietnam’s struggles for liberation and highlighted the significant meaning of the great April 30 victory. He also expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese people for the assistance they have given to the Cuban people in their difficult periods. On this occasion, Cuba’s state-run television broadcasted a 30-minute programme entitled “Similarities and Differences” to introduce Vietnam ’s achievements during its current national construction, particularly the country’s traditional cultural identities which were reflected through customs and culinary art. It will also broadcast on April 30 an interview with Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Vu Chi Cong on the achievements, experiences and prospects of the country’s renewal process and economic development. The Opcion Weekly of Cuba will publish its interview with the Vietnamese Ambassador on this occasion.
