About one billion people in 160 countries and territories will watch Miss Universe 2008 taking place in July in Nha Trang City, south central Khanh Hoa province, through live broadcasts on NBC channel. Over 7,500 people will be present at the final round ceremony in Vietnam and more than 800 reporters will cover the event. The final round will take place at 9pm local time on July 14, including nine minutes of advertising for Vietnam’s tourist sites, landscapes and culture to the world. More than 100 candidates from throughout the world attend Miss Universe. Vietnam’s representative to take part in this competition will be chosen from recent national beauty contests. The candidates will not only stay in Nha Trang City but also experience a trans-Vietnam tour from Da Nang to Hue and Hanoi to understand more about the country.
