Ethnic minority women working in the field, carrying their children on their hips, bathing… Everyday life of women is introduced by photographer Ngoc Thai in his “Women in daily life” exhibition from April 10-16 at Maison des Arts (House of Arts), 31A Van Mieu, Hanoi.
“Recording images about man’s life is always my burning passion. I have taken photos of women for decades and this is a good chance for me to introduce my photos about women’s everyday life,” said Ngoc Thai.
“There is nothing that can make scenic photos gentler than the appearance of women. Women make photos more poetic, especially black and white photos,” he said about his first solo exhibition of photos taken prior to 2000.
The exhibition is part of the Italian Cultural Season 2008, entitled “Women, the Passion”, which introduces Italy’s lifestyle and culture in Vietnam.
Ngoc Thai, 55, has won many gold medals at international photo contests, including awards from the World Photographer’s Association and the United Nations. He is Chairman of the Art Council of the Hanoi Photographers’ Association.
