Cuba and Ukraine will provide 53 scholarships and fellowships for Vietnamese students in the 2008-2009 academic years.
The Cuban Government provides 23 scholarships and fellowships, while the number of scholarships and fellowships given by Ukraine reached 30.
Cuba will gives scholarships to one student in metallurgy, one student in agriculture, one student in geology, five students in sports, one student in forestry, two students in medicine, one student in architecture, one student in mechanics, one student in pharmaceuticals and one student in water resources.
Ten universities, including the Thai Nguyen University, the Hanoi Agriculture University N0 1, the Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, the Vietnam Forestry University, the University of Hue, the University of Da Nang, the Hanoi Pharmaceutical University, and the University of Water Resources will select their first year students of formal education based on their learning results in the first term.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine will provide scholarships and fellowships for 30 Vietnamese, including 15 for high education, 10 for post-graduate education and five for apprentice.
The Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has assigned the Maritime University, the University of Nha Trang, the Hanoi Transport University, the Vietnam Aviation Academy, the University of Binh Duong, the Lac Hong University and the Ho Chi Minh City Transport University to select students for the scholarships and fellowships
