"Iran seeks stronger fishing, agricultural ties with Vietnam
Iran wants to enhance cooperation with Vietnam, especially in agriculture and fisheries, Iranian Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Reza Eskandari said Friday.
Eskandari’s comments followed a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem in Hanoi.
The Iranian minister congratulated Vietnam on its recent achievements in national development, which he said would help raise Vietnam’s position in the international arena.
Eskandari, who also met with officials from Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, predicted stronger bilateral agricultural cooperation in future.
Khiem affirmed the Vietnamese government’s support for agreements reached between the two agriculture ministries.
“There remains large potential for bilateral cooperation in agriculture,” the Deputy Prime Minister said, recommending both sides work out their immediate and long-term cooperation goals.
