Exhibition of Vietnamese press 1865-1954

This is the first exhibition of Vietnamese “quoc ngu” press held in Hanoi and the third in Vietnam in 145 years, since the first newspaper using the old Vietnamese script was issued.

LookAtVietnam - This is the first exhibition of Vietnamese “quoc ngu” (Vietnamese script) press held in Hanoi and the third in Vietnam in 145 years, since the first newspaper using the old Vietnamese script – Gia Dinh - was issued. The two previous exhibitions were held in HCM City.
The exhibition displays 150 original issues of important newspapers in the history of Vietnamese press from 1865 to 1954, including Gia Dinh, Dang Co Tung Bao, Nong Co Min Dam, Dong Duong Magazine and Nam Phong in addition to some keepsakes of President Ho Chi Minh and journalists Vu Trong Phung and Nguyen Huy Tuong.
The event is organized by sachxua.net forum, the Hanoi Library and the East-West Culture and Language Centre from June 16 to 20 at the Hanoi Library, 37 Ba Trieu.
One of the most special items on display is a handwritten letter signed by President Ho Chi Minh to the southern people before he went to France as a distinguished visitor, published by Cuu Quoc Newspaper in 1946.
