Over 3,000 elderly people nationwide took part in a culture and sports exchange held on October 22 at Hanoi’s Quan Ngua Sports Palace. The programme was co-organised by the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO.
Photo: VOVAddressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Tan Trinh, chairman of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, said the movement to do exercises and take part in sports helps the elderly realise their expectation to live healthily, happily and helpfully for their families, community and society.At the event, audiences will have opportunities to see Tai Chi Fist performances of the elderly people’s clubs in the provinces and cities over the country.The movement to exercise Tai Chi Fist has been developed widely in 43 provinces and cities over the country, drawing nearly 140,000 elderly people.
