Olympic Games

Nhan Dan - Weightlifter Hoang Anh Tuan placed Vietnam on the medal table, winning a silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games on August 10.
This is the first medal at the world’s biggest sporting event after eight years since taekwondo artist Tran Hieu Ngan won a silver medal in the Sydney Games.
Anh Tuan clinched the medal, lifting 290 kilogrammes in total. He lost to the host gold medallist Long Quingquan by two kilogrammes in the men’s 56 kilogramme division.
Indonesia’s Eko Yuli Irawan bagged the bronze with 288 kilogrammes
