Pakistan bypasses Vietnam in search for “sex”

Pakistani internet users typed the keyword “sex” more than the citizens of any other country in the first months of 2008, “pushing” Vietnam into second position, according to Google Trends statistics.

This result also brings Pakistan into the top position in searching for “sex” on Google in general, followed by Vietnam, Egypt, India, and Indonesia.

However, Google Trends statistics reveal that the most popular language used in searching for sex-related content is Vietnamese.

“Sex” is now used very often on the mess media in Vietnam rather than Vietnamese words with similar meanings like “tuoi mat”, “tinh duc”, “khieu dam”.

In the early months of 2007 and especially in September and October, searches containing the word “sex” coming from IP in Vietnam were at the highest level on Google.

In 2005-2006, Vietnam was not among the top ten countries searching for this word on Google but in January 2007, Vietnam climbed to fourth and then third position (March, April, May and June), and claimed ascendancy in July 2007.
