Vietnamese bloggers cheer Yahoo! 360 Plus

Different from the hush surrounding the introduction of Yahoo! Mash, Vietnamese bloggers are making noise about Yahoo! 360 Plus.

Bloggers are rapidly opening their new “houses”. Mr Anji VIP, a famous blogger, inaugurated his house with an entry entitled “New house inauguration ceremony”. “After using Yahoo! 360 Plus for a trial period, I decide to move to this site,” Mr Anji VIP writes.

Another famous blogger, Trang Ha, has also moved her blog from Yahoo! 360 to Yahoo! 360 Plus. “Goodbye my Yahoo! 360 bloggers! From now on I will no longer use this blog to move to http://vn.myblog.yahoo.com/trang-ha. Thank you for keeping track of my trang-ha blog for over the past two years,” she writes.

Vietnamese bloggers comment that Yahoo! 360 Plus has many improvements but it is still incomplete. Yahoo! 360 Plus interface is in Vietnamese language, but the language is not very good.

“The arrival of Yahoo! 360 Plus will make the social network market in Vietnam more bustling, after several quiet months. Vietnam’s social networks need to have changes to make them different from Yahoo! 360 Plus,” said Thanh Tho, Marketing Manager of a social network named Cyworld.

Phan Dang Dung, Marketing Director of another social network of Vietnam, Timnhanh.com, said: “We see the Vietnamised version of Yahoo! is a normal thing. Our new Timnhanh! Version will optimise the personalisation and connection ability.”

The biggest concern of Vietnamese bloggers is whether their “assets” in their old blogs on Yahoo! 360 (entries, comments and quick comments) can be moved to their new houses (Yahoo! 360 Plus) or not.

The answer from Yahoo! Is, “Assistance is on the way! We are developing suitable tools to help you move your assets to the new houses.”

Some bloggers have already shifted their “assets” from Yahoo! 360 to Yahoo! 360 Plus. One of these lucky bloggers, Demento, explained that he attended Yahoo’s press conference on the launch of Yahoo! 360 Plus and left his ID so his blog was shifted early.
