Vietnam to build modern blood disease center

Vietnam will build a fully-equipped center specializing in treating blood-related diseases in the capital Hanoi, the most modern of its kind in Southeast Asia, local newspaper Labor reported Thursday.

The center, to be developed by Vietnam's National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, will become operational next May, focusing on bone marrow transplant.

The institute and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam signed on Wednesday a credit contract worth 103 billion Vietnamese dong (6.4 million U.S. dollars) to fund the center's construction.
