Local agencies will control Vietnamese television rights for the 3rd Asian Indoor Games to be held in Hanoi next year, a senior official of the Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC), said Friday.
“The Olympic Council of Asia will be in charge of overseas TV rights… and has agreed to let Vietnam control local rights,” Hoang Vinh Giang, VOC vice chairman and general secretary, told Thanh Nien after attending a meeting of the Olympic Committee of Asia in Bangkok.
The VOC would soon speak to the government to decide which channels should be given broadcast rights for the event, Giang said.
Vietnam would pay the OCA part of the revenues from marketing the event instead of a fee for the rights, he said.
The games are scheduled to be held in November next year.
