On April 7, the US-based Oak Tree Group presented a plan to build a five billion USD resort named “Rising Sun” to leaders of Danang’s municipal People’s Committee in Lien Trieu District. The resort will be designed for 500 hectare site, with total capital of five billion USD. It will include a golf course, a therapeutic centre, villas, high-end hotels, a marina, a telpher route and a heliport. In particular, it will have a casino for foreigners. The project is scheduled to involve more than 10,000 local workers during the construction phase, said Oak Tree’s leaders. According to Danang’s Promotion Center, the resort project has the largest investment capital of any project in Vietnam.
