Drug rules to be enforced by surveillance teams

Four inspection teams will carry out surveillance on the sale of medicines and the examination and treatment of patients at private clinics.
Harsh punishments will be administered to those who violate rules regarding examinations and prescriptions.

The teams will also do surveillance at pharmacies to insure that trade rules and quality regulations are followed.

In related news, a guidance board on administering vaccinations will be established, according to a decree signed by Minister of Health Nguyen Quoc Trieu.

The board will provide advice on the use of vaccines and supply information to the press. Since last year, 11 children have died after being inoculated. These deaths are not linked to vaccine quality, the ministry stated
