The second of two young women from Hue who had been tricked and sold in China has returned home after being assisted over the border by smugglers.
Tran Thi Vui, now 23, and Le Thi Hai Van were enticed by a woman with promises of jobs in Hanoi in 2003 but were sneaked over the border and sold to different men for around 5,000 yuan each.
Van managed to contact her family last year and was reunited with them in October.
But it has taken Vui a few months longer.
She told Thanh Nien that she had lived with the man who had bought her in a forest atop a mountain and gave birth to a girl, who was now four years.
But, unable to suffer ill-treatment by him, she had fled and begun to live with another man.
The two had had a boy, now aged 15 months.
While staying with the second man, she had saved a little money and one day taken the opportunity to escape and return home.
Arriving at the Vietnamese border, she sought help from some smugglers to cross over.
Once in Vietnam, she had traveled by bus to reach Hue, her hometown.
