Let the buck stop now

The Ministry of Construction cannot deny responsibility in a slew of scams after the arrest the its COSEVCO corporation chairman and other officials.
The buck stops with the ministry.
It failed to encourage outspoken people who blew the whistle on chairman Tran Xuan Dinh for brazen mismanagement and nepotism.
The public has been forced to grapple with a vexing question recently: how could Tran Xuan Dinh go on installing his family members and relatives into important posts at the corporation without any intervention from higher authorities?
The corporation has fallen into massive scandals that have recently pushed it to the brink of bankruptcy.
Many now question the supervisory ability of the ministry as the scandals have dragged the corporation through the mud for years without the ministry ever batting an eye.
Ironically, the arrest of the chairman might turn out to be the best solution for him as he may be able to escape the vengeance and fury of workers that have suffered under his policies.
He can hide in jail.
Many precious lessons could be drawn from the scandal.
Of them, how we should encourage whistle-blowers and prevent nepotism must be made a leading priority
