Lee thanks Vietnma for support of S. Korean firms
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak met with the chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly on Saturday and praised Hanoi's support of Korean firms investing in the Southeast Asian country. "Vietnam's economic growth has been an example for the world," Lee said in the meeting with Nguyen Phu Trong. "Many Korean firms have entered Vietnam, and I appreciate support by the Vietnamese government for them."Nguyen expressed thanks for the welcome by South Korean officials and said, "That in itself, I believe, represents the friendly relationship between the two countries." The speaker was visiting Seoul along with about 100 Vietnamese businessmen at the invitation of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1992, their economic exchanges have grown quickly. Bilateral trade volume is expected to hit US$7.15 billion this year, a more than 10-fold increase from below US$500 million at the start of their diplomatic relationship. So
