Luc Cung (Six floral lamp worship offering) is an ancient dance which was transferred to northern Vietnam by Indian bonzes, according to some traditional music researchers.
In the past, the dance was performed to offer agricultural produce to the Buddha whenever farmers had a good harvest.
Under the Nguyen Dynasty, King Minh Mang told the Ministry of Rites to restructure Luc Cung dance into Luc Cung Hoa Dang to use during royal ceremonies.
