Vietnamese model chosen by website as one of world’s top 50 beauties

Truong Tri Truc Diem, Vietnam’s representative at the Miss Earth 2007 pageant, was selected by GlobalBeauties website as one of the world’s 50 most beautiful girls.

GlobalBeauties’, a website on pageant contests, list is in alphabetical order and Truc Diem is the only Vietnamese girl named.

“It is an honor for me to be rated so highly by a prestigious website. What I showed at Miss Earth perhaps impressed journalists,” Truc Diem said.

She won the Miss Fashion title at the special competition of Miss Earth 2007, held in Vietnam last November.

The world’s top 50 beauties also features Miss World 2007 Zi Lin Zhang (China), Miss International 2007 Priscilla Perales (Mexico), Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori (Japan), Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 Olga Zarubina (Russia). Miss Earth Jessica Nicole Domingo Trisko (Canada) is within the top 100.

Of the top 100 beauties who participated in the five biggest beauty contests last year, Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Tourism Queen International, a 15-member jury will choose the most beautiful girl in the world, Miss Grand Slam.

Last year, Miss Venezuela Ly Jonaitis (second runner-up of Miss Universe 2006) won the Miss Grand Slam title, voted by readers of GlobalBeauties website

Tips on Travel to Vietnam

It's always warm in Southeast Asia apart from high mountains, so leave the heavy clothing at home. Cotton and breathable fabrics are always better than synthetics -- although cotton does wrinkle a lot when traveling! December through April is roughly the dry season in that region, although it can still rain a little. December is a good time to go in terms of temperature -- cooler than in the humid summertime. Either way, wearing more clothing (shirt sleeves and long pants) is always more respectful towards the Asian culture, especially when visiting temples and rural areas.
