Vietnam to host eco-product int'l fair for the first time_English_Xinhua

HANOI, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will host an eco-products international fair (EPIF) for the first time early next month with the participation of some 60 organizations and enterprises from eight countries, according to a local agency on Wednesday.
The EPIF 2008 slated for March 1-4 in Hanoi will showcase environmentally-friendly products, including steel, polymer, pottery and glass items, consumer goods, automobiles, motorbikes and energy-saving devices at 300 booths of 60 organizations and enterprises from China, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia, said Vietnam's Directorate for Standards and Quality.
The theme of the EPIF 2008 is "for Sustainable Development and Better Life."
The EPIFs, initiated by the Asian Productivity Organization in 2004 and held annually in APO member countries, aims at raising public awareness about the availability and benefits of environmentally friendly products and services, the directorate said.
