$650 million in cashews
In 2006, for the first time in 15 years exporting cashews, Vietnam became the world largest exporter. The country held on to its title in 2007.
According to the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas), over 200 cashew producers processed over 600,000 tons of raw cashews to make 153,000 tons of cashew nuts of all kinds, 20.6% more than 2006.
There are 20 cashew exporters, who shared revenues exceeding $650 million. India and Brazil ranked second and third.
