Overseas Vietnamese supports poor in Mekong Delta
Expat Hoang Kieu giving gifts to people in Tien Giang
More than 40 tons of rice and gifts worth a total of nearly VND500 million (US$31,000) have been distributed to the poor in the southern province of Tien Giang.
The donation was made by an overseas Vietnamese, Hoang Kieu, who returned home for business two years ago.
The gifts were handed over by 2007 Miss Vietnam, Mai Phuong Thuy, and 2006 Miss Ao Dai Mekong Delta, Than Hoang Dieu, whom Kieu had requested accompany him.
Kieu, head of agricultural import company RAAS, has participated in many charity programs including supporting flood victims, building houses and helping poor people around the country to develop production.
