Sex clip in doubt

The public get indignant with sex clip distribution
VietNamNet Bridge - After a series of video clips featuring fights among schoolgirls, the online community has been surprised by sex clips of schoolgirls. This once again sounds the bell of disillusion of the indulgent lifestyle of a small part of the youth today.

On November 30 this year, the police of the northern port city of Haiphong announced to identify the couple in the sex clip that was posted on the Internet in late November.

The woman in the clip is determined as a 21-year-old girl in Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong. The girl graduated from the high school and did not have a job yet. The man in the clip is also 21 years old and also from Kien Thuy district. He is a student of a vocational high school in Hanoi.

Kien Thuy District Police questioned the couple for investigation. The two admitted themselves as the characters in the sex video.

They said they used to be classmates and loved each other. Both wanted to shoot the sex clip to celebrate their love. The clip was filmed by a mobile phone in the middle of June 2012, in the toilet on the second floor at the girl’s home.

The girl and her family sent a denunciation to the police of Kien Thuy District, claiming her privacy was being abused.

The boy said that someone stole the clip from his phone to post on the internet, adversely affecting the image of the couple.

Earlier, on October 10, 2012, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School in Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province confirmed that its five students involved in a sex video that had caused a stir on the Internet.

The school expelled two students for a year, including the male student in the sex clip and a student who made the clip.

The school also expelled the female student in this clip for a week. The two students who watched the clip on the phone of the student who made the video and then gave it to other students had to serve a warning.

Earlier, on September 5, five students related to the case drank beer after the opening ceremony. After that two students had sex and was sneakily filmed by a schoolboy, who then showed the clip to two other students.

The clip was then transferred to two other students of Ca Van Thinh high school in Mo Cay Nam district. One of the two students, a 12th grader, posted it on the Internet, caused a stir in the public opinion.

Also recently, the online community was stirred when a sex video of a couple, given as students of a university in the Central Region was leaked. The 30-minute clip made viewers "shock" because of the boldness of the characters.

The incident once again sounds the bell of disillusion of the indulgent lifestyle of a small part of the youth today.

There are many other cases occurred this year.

Le Trong Hung, 17, in Ha Dong district, Hanoi had relationship with two 10th graders named Hue and Lan at the same time. Hung used to study in the same school with them but he dropped out.

Hue was jealous. She gave Hung her cell phone and asked him to videotape his sexual relations with Lan to spread to take revenge against Lan.

On April 11, Hung and Lan dated in a hostel and had sex. Hung filmed their sexual intercourse scenes and gave the 7-minute clip to Hue.  This girl then sent the clip to a number of fellow students and spread to other schools. The case quickly spread and was discovered shortly thereafter.

Ha Dong district police summoned Hung and Hue for investigation. Hung admitted to be more in love with Hue so he agreed to videotape his sexual relations with Lan and gave the clip to Hue.

Fortunately, the police quickly prevented the wide spread of the sex video.

In mid-October, a sensitive clip spread fast. The main character in the clip is said to be a 10th grader of a high school in Cau Giay district, Hanoi.

However, soon after netizens "vindicated" the reputation of Hanoi’s schoolgirls. She found out that the clip came from abroad, not Vietnam.

Homosexual community upholds same-sex wedding in Ha Tien | Look At Vietnam

Homosexual community upholds same-sex wedding in Ha Tien

May 31, 2012
LookAtVietnam – After the local authorities penalized two men in Ha Tien city for holding a same-sex wedding, ICS, the largest organization on the interest of homosexuals in Vietnam, has stated that it was legal when the two men organized their wedding party without marriage registration.

Nguyen Hoang Bao Quoc and Truong Van Hen.
In its announcement released on May 30, ICS supported the wedding of Nguyen Hoang Bao Quoc and Truong Van Hen, reasoning that holding wedding party without marriage registration is completely legal. This organization praised the two men for being brave to overcome social discrimination to live with their true nature.
“Love and be loved is not the privilege of any gender. The right to seek happiness is the most fundamental right of everyone. ICS is glad because your love is supported by your families, who organized a wedding for you. This is a humane activity based on parents’ love for their children…,” the press release wrote.
Admitting that same-sex marriage is contrary to the Law on Marriage and Family, ICS said that the Vietnamese law does not ban two persons of the same sex from having relationships, on conditions that they are voluntary, are not juvenile and there is no connection with prostitution.
“Holding a wedding party is not considered as getting married, because it is not recognized by the law. The wedding party is only a get-together so it is wrong if the authorities ban or dismiss it just because it is held by two people of the same sex. Every citizen has the right to do things that are not banned by the law,” ICS said.
According to ICS, the local authorities’ threat to impose fine on the couple is the serious violation of the residential freedom right of citizens. “In other countries, this act can be charged as hate crime,” it wrote.
A same-sex wedding in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang’s Ha Tien town has drawn public attention for the last two weeks.
Local people in Ha Tien town in the southern province of Kien Giang keep talking about the wedding of two men though the event has passed for a week.
On May 16, the wedding of Truong Van Hen, 22 (bride) and Nguyen Hoang Bao Quoc (groom) took place at a house on Phuong Thanh Road. The wedding was held in large scale, with the witness of the two men’s parents and the participation of hundreds of guests.
After that the local government asked the couple and their families to come to the local police station to educate them and give them an administrative fine, because the wedding “broke the Law on Marriage and Family.”
Previously, two girls named Nga and Nhu held a marriage and they were also fined for breaking the law.
According to ICS, 19 countries and territories in the world have recognized same-sex marriage. Forty-four others have permitted people of the same sex to register to legally live together under the forms named “civil marriage”, “registered relationship”, “family relations”, etc. with similar rights like marriage of different-sex couples.
Lawyer Nguyen Van Duc from Can Tho city said that there are no grounds for imposing administrative fines on the families that organized same-sex wedding for their children, because the couple did not register for marriage so they are not a legal couple. “The local authorities can only ask them to come to their office to educate them,” he said.

Quiet pains of lesbians August 21, 2011 about Uncategorized LookAtVietnam - Holding her husband’s hand at the wedding ceremony, but Thi was very sad. Her efforts to love a man seemed to nearly break into tears but she could not cry because this is the right thing to do. The wedding day is the happiest day for any girl but for Thi, 31, in Dong Da district, Hanoi is opposite. That day is the full stop for her aspiration to live with her self – a lesbian. As a schoolgirl, Thi knew that she only liked girls. Growing up, she had a girlfriend though many guys paid court to her. But Thi did not dare to tell her parents about her absurd love affair. Thi’s parents have three children. The eldest daughter – Thi’s elder sister – is over 40 years old but she does not want to get married. The youngest son returned home after several years working far from home, with a daughter. Thi, therefore, became the only hope of her parents. After Thi’s girlfriend said goodbye after four years to get married, Thi thought that the right direction for her was to be a woman to please her parents and to be normal as others. After having affairs with three men, Thi decided to marry, though she did not love him. She forced herself to show her love for him to progress to marriage. But finally, the marriage broke up because she could not leave that way. Like Thi, under family’s pressure, Duong, 25 in An Giang province, tried to deny herself as a lesbian to get married. But it turns out that it is a wrong decision. The new life is a torture. She never feels wretched like that. Duong’s husband doesn’t harass or neglect her, but he is very kind and pampers his wife. Duong, thus, feels guilty and is frightened. “If he was cold to me, I would have felt more comfortable. Whenever the night comes, I’m very scared because I have to sleep with him. I want to seek reasons to divorce but he is so kind,” Duong said. Duong sees her husband as a friend. Her heart directs to another girl. Nguyen Quynh Trang, an official from the Institute for Social, Economic and Environment Research, says that many lesbians have the same choice like Duong and Thi. They choose it for themselves and for their parents. They are frightened to live differently from others. The Institute for Social, Economic and Environment Research recently conducted a survey on lesbians in Hanoi, with the participation of 40 lesbians, aging from 19 to 30. Most of them are single but some of them tried to have relationships with men or plan to get married to be normal. “I’m independent but I’m not sure whether I can live this way – getting married or simply living together with a girl. I understand what I want but I know my responsibility to my family,” said Van, 25. But Van still wonders whether she can overcome her own barrier to have relations with men or not. Many parents think simply that if their daughters, who are lesbians, have boyfriends and get married, their problem is solved. But it is not so simple like this. “Trying to be heterosexuals, many lesbians have tried to have boyfriends and get married but they could not love the men. Once they do things that are contrary to their wishes or love, they cannot feel peaceful or happy,” Trang said. “Some parents think that forcing their daughters to change their sexual trend to be heterosexuals is to help them become ‘normal’. But homosexuality is normal for homosexuals in general and lesbians in particular. Forcing them to change their sexual trend makes them become abnormal,” she added. Knowing his daughter falling in love with a girl, the father cheated his daughter to take sleeping pills and sleep with a man. The father hoped that his daughter would have to accept the man that way. But when the girl woke up, she went mad. “Whenever I closed my eyes at night, I see my daughter gradually dieing in whirl pool. She called me to help but I turned my back to her…,” said Mr. Tan in Hanoi, the father in this story. A member of the survey group, Nguyen Thi Thu Nam, said that some people accept their daughters as lesbians but they are influenced by people around them. “My parents used to sympathize with me but whenever they saw someone on the street and they asked my parents about me, such as how is your daughter? Has she got married?… they returned home very angry and scolded me,” a 21-year-old lesbian told the survey group. Nam said that the community should be sympathetic with homosexuals and their families. Supportive services for homosexuals and their parents are also needed to assist them to cope with social problems. Nguyen Van Anh, a senior official from the Centre for Gender Research and Scientific Application, said that preconception against gays has become more gentle, but it is still very heavy against lesbians.
